“My work is rooted in emotion, intuition, and the quiet energy that exists in everyday life. Using paint, ink, pencil, and digital media, I build layered compositions inspired by florals, landscapes, and natural forms. I’m less interested in replicating what I see and more drawn to what I feel in a moment.”
Detrifie is a San Diego based artist, illustrator, and creator whose work explores emotion, movement, and connection through abstract expression. Working across paint, ink, pencil, and digital media, she creates pieces inspired by florals, landscapes, and organic forms, using color and texture to evoke feeling and invite reflection.
Raised in Reno, Nevada, Detrifie draws inspiration from the area’s natural beauty, diverse communities, and the emotional experiences that shape everyday life. Her artistic practice is guided by intuition and a desire to create work that communicates love, kindness, growth, and human connection. Through expressive mark-making and layered compositions, she seeks to capture the energy and emotions that exist beneath the surface of her subjects.
Balancing abstraction with recognizable elements of nature, Detrifie creates work that encourages personal interpretation and emotional engagement. Her early works have been featured in group exhibitions throughout the Reno/Tahoe area, and she continues to develop her practice from her studio in San Diego, California.
